Switch Pistol

Post by conradin »

If my pistol fails during the inspection period, can I get my backup (or borrow from another competitor not on the same relay)?

If my pistol fails during sighting period, can I get my backup (or borrow from another competitor not on the same relay) and continue?

If my pistol fails during the match can I get my backup (or borrow from another competitor not on the same relay) and continue?

If scenario 2 and 3 is OK, will I credited with the time lost during the change?
If scenario 3 is OK, will I be given a short sighting period before continuing?

All scenarios apply to AP, FP, and SP.

There's no problem whatsoever prior to a match starting, as long as the gun has gone through EQ.

I 'think' there is no problem during a match, but you would need to declare it to the RO and jury, and then swap for a tested spare pistol. I don't believe you would get any extra time or be allowed sighters again, but I'm not sure without reading the rules in detail.

You can equally get the gun repaired but there's a time limit for that, of I believe 15 mins, but again I'm not certain, especially under the new rules and times.

Can I suggest reading section 6.13 for AP & FP and 8.9 for SP.

These are rules that you need to know if you want to minimise any disruption during your match.

Looking them up when you need to use them is likely to be too late.
