Just seen this for sale and am interested but the description is all over the place, not least as having it as a .177 air rifle. KK200 is mentioned. Could anyone confirm the action and stock please?

That looks like a KK200 to me. The stock is the early machined version, with the broomhandle grip. I can't see the bolt, but I expect it has the gold-ish (titanium nitride?) coating. The trigger blade has been swapped for a FWB, but everything else appears to be a Walther part.

Some early rifles were branded KKM200.

Thanks Tim, that gives me a bit more confidence. I will try to arrange to get a look at it in person.

Happy to help.

Obviously the usual caveats about any 25+ yo rifle apply. Do make sure the large thumbscrew that locks the cheekouece is present, as it's not in the photo. I'd presume this is the same as on the KK300 alutec, but it would save time and expense if the seller has it.

I'd add I think the rearsight is the appropriate type for an early KK200.

Good point, and you are spot on about the gold bolt body btw. I'd thought it was a bit younger so will revise my value estimate.

Steve,

The KK200 was made until the early 2000s when the KK300 took over, so it could be a newer barrel/action and a stock from 1996-98. The early 2000s is still 20+ years old though!

That appears to be a factory barrel, so it should bear the standard Ulm proof marks which include the year it was tested. For all intents and purposes the year of proofing will be the year of manufacture. You're looking for two small letters; the first will be either a K for (19)9x or an A for (20)0x.

FWIW the last .22 I bought was around then, a MkIII BSA Martini International. I'm catching up slowly!
