Manufacturer identification request

Post by jelonek79 »

I bought a rimfire rifle. The barrel markings show the production date of 1966. The barrel is marked Anschutz on the underside, and LORD on the top. The diopter is Anschultz. Do you know anything about the history of this rifle? Who and where made it, where was it sold? Is it a Match 64 and a 1903 model?

That's an Anschutz Match 64, made in 1966 according to the proof marks. The model number would be either 1402 or 1403; 1903 refers to later Match 64 variants made after 1987 that feature a heavier barrel, superior trigger, and UIT Standard stock.

I've not come across the Lord logo before. It may he a local importer: both Savage in the US and Canadian Industries Limited sold Anschutz rifles under their brand.
